Importance of Using Acidifiers

Nowadays, due to the significant impact of drinking water quality in poultry farms on production efficiency, the importance of using organic acids for disinfecting water and feed has doubled. Organic acids are weak, safe acids that do not completely dissociate in water and possess antimicrobial activity.

Organic acids and their salts are effective alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters in feed. Their multifunctional role, including reducing stomach pH, increasing retention time in the stomach, stimulating pancreatic secretions, affecting mucosal morphology, and acting as a substrate in intermediate metabolism, all contribute to improving digestion and nutrient absorption.

Introduction to e-Ben Fire Acidifier

e-Ben Fire is a combination of organic acids added to poultry drinking water to enhance gastrointestinal health. The acids in this product lower pH and exert direct antimicrobial effects, promoting better digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Benefits of e-Ben Fire Acidifier

e-Ben Fire enhances intestinal health, reduces the negative effects of stress, and improves poultry performance. By lowering the pH of drinking water, it preserves water quality, prevents contamination and biofilm formation in water pipelines, controls the transmission of pathogens, and reduces antibiotic usage.

Acetic Acid

Acetic acid is one of the most effective organic acids for poultry growth, reducing pH to control mold levels and inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract. It prevents bacterial colonization on intestinal epithelial cells, reducing infections and inflammation, thereby increasing villus height and improving digestion and nutrient absorption.

Formic Acid

Widely recognized as a powerful acidifier and antimicrobial agent, formic acid damages microbial cell membranes and mitochondria, leading to the elimination of pathogens such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, and Escherichia coli (E. coli). This enhances efficiency and profitability.

Lactic Acid

Lactic acid is a potent antibacterial agent against E. coli and a mild oxidizer against Salmonella, molds, and yeasts. It lowers stomach pH, indirectly reducing acid-sensitive bacteria while enhancing intestinal epithelial growth and digestive enzyme activity, improving digestion and nutrient absorption.

Citric Acid

Citric acid is the most commonly used organic acid in poultry diets, acidifying the gastrointestinal contents to stimulate growth. It adjusts intestinal pH, increases the activity of acid-dependent enzymes such as pepsin and phytase, and enhances protein digestion and fiber solubility, ultimately improving feed conversion efficiency.

Malic Acid

A dicarboxylic organic acid with high antimicrobial activity, malic acid inhibits pathogen growth and possesses strong antioxidant properties, contributing to improved poultry performance.

Tartaric Acid

Tartaric acid lowers pH, inhibiting pathogenic bacteria, particularly Salmonella Typhimurium, and improves gut microbiota balance.

Fumaric Acid

Fumaric acid plays a unique acidifier role in the body, enhancing protein digestibility, increasing metabolizable energy, and boosting immune function. It reduces coliform bacteria, E. coli, and Salmonella, leading to better growth, digestion, immune response, and intestinal health.

Benzoic Acid

Benzoic acid helps reduce pathogenic bacteria such as Campylobacter jejuni. It enhances protein and amino acid digestibility, serving as an energy source for intestinal epithelial cells, leading to increased villus height, improved nutrient absorption, and enhanced gut health and growth performance.

Storage Conditions and Shelf Life

  • Avoid exposure to extreme heat and cold (freezing).
  • Store at a temperature between 15 to 25°C and keep out of reach of children.
  • It is recommended to store the product in its original container with a tightly closed lid and use it immediately after opening.
  • Optimal shelf life under proper storage conditions is six months from the production date.

Safety Precautions

  • Wear protective gloves and safety goggles when handling the product.
  • Keep away from incompatible materials such as strong oxidizing and reducing agents and metals.
  • If swallowed, rinse the mouth and avoid inducing vomiting.
  • In case of inhalation, move the affected individual to fresh air.
  • If in contact with eyes, immediately rinse with plenty of water (for at least 15 minutes) and seek medical attention.
  • Prevent release into the environment.
