Explanations

Genius Concentrate

During recent years, due to carrying out breeding programs and nutritional advances in the field of broiler poultry, we have seen a very rapid growth of the poultry's body within a short time. Also, due to very severe metabolic pressure exerted to the body of poultry, the strength of their immune system against bacterial and viral diseases will decrease. with regard to the nutritional management in broiler in order to reduce the metabolic pressure, it has been observed that risk of disease in rearing systems in which the growth rate of poultry is high is much higher than in the systems in which the growth rate of poultry is gentler. Also some evidence shows that regulating a diet based on the crude protein is associated with an increased metabolic pressure in the poultry's body. Therefore, one of the most important solutions which have been studied in order to reduce metabolic pressure, is the provision of essential amino acids and regulation of diets based on the ideal protein. The standard Genius concentrate has been designed and produced for this purpose, and by reducing the slope of the growth curve and thus resulting in a gentle growth, increases the strength of the poultry against metabolic and microbial diseases.

The importance of concentrates in a diet

Among the most important characteristics of a suitable concentrate is that it provides the nutrients needed by the poultry's body and it is economical. Some factors such as the poultry's breed, rearing climate region, and slaughter weight should be considered in the main characteristics of the diet. Genius concentrate and the recommended diets are regulated based on the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids in such a way that the amount of digestible amino acid, lysine is used as a diet standard and the amounts of other amino acids are regulated according to it. Due to the unique formulation of this product, it has become possible to use a fixed type of concentrate in different amounts for different age ranges.

The characteristics of the standard Genius concentrate

Using phytase enzyme in the combination of the standard Genius concentrate causes the breakdown of phytate molecule (Figure 1) and the release of energy and amino acids in the diet. Moreover, the phytase enzyme increases the release of calcium, phosphorus, and minerals. In addition, the diets are formulated based on the amount of sodium and chlorine in the consumptive water (salinity), and then they are recommended, so that the anion-cation balance along with potassium in the diet can be maintained properly depending on the amount of feed intake and the age of chickens. Also, by adding the amino acid threonine (the third essential amino acid in poultry feed) to the standard Genius concentrate, the balance of amino acids in the recommended diets are maintained properly, and this improves the efficiency of use of nutrients in the diet.

The performance of Genius concentrate in broiler flocks

Given that the quality and quantity of protein sources in the diet have been very variable (and often dwindling), it seems necessary that in desirable rearing conditions, in order to produce chickens weighing 3300 grams in less than 60 days, a concentrate be produced that covers the disadvantages of protein sources in the diet. This nutritional management has been applied to the standard Genius concentrate, using five diets in five age periods. The growth trend and the slope of the growth curve have been considered in such a way that chickens have a growth rate with a moderate slope from the age of 12 to 30 days. Therefore, nutritional stress is not exerted on chickens, and feed intake gradually increases to over 100 grams per day. By this time, the main organs such as heart, liver, kidneys, and digestive tract will have developed, and the body becomes ready to consume the compensatory diet to achieve the desired weight. By consuming this concentrate, while nutritional stress is being decreased during the rearing period, the flock will gradually reach the desired weight with an appropriate conversion ratio. Also, by consuming this concentrate and using nutritional management, mortality can be minimized in case the flock is affected by a disease. This concentrate will have a very good performance in complicated conditions of rearing, such as heat and cold stress, ascites, and in high altitudes. A group of recommended diets of Genius concentrate contains wheat or oil, and the other group is free of wheat or oil that are used depending on the type of climate and raw materials for rearing.

Broiler Flock Management

Heat stress

Heat stress is one of the factors which reduces the performance and increases the mortality among poultry, due to the reduced feed intake and weakened immune system. Among the harmful effects of heat stress are increased respiratory rates, acid-base balance disorders, increased blood electrolyte excretion, decreased productivity, and decreased carcass quality. Using appropriate management techniques in regulating the temperature, lighting, ventilation, and density of poultry in the house is somewhat effective in reducing these harmful effects , but, in the meantime, the role of proper nutrition and diet modifications are of great importance. Since feed intake and digestion are associated with the production of metabolic heat, the chickens under heat stress reduce their feed intake in order to reduce the effects of metabolic heat produced, thus the nutritional needs should be formulated by taking the reduced feed intake into account. In the standard Genius concentrate, Regulating the protein in the diet is done based on the ideal protein, and the slope of the growth curve and metabolic pressure among poultry decreases by using it and thus the risk of heat stress among the flock will be minimized.
